The types of materials which may be processed by DevourX ranges from coal, lignite, petroleum coke, mezotrace, oil shale, clay, glass, drywall, ash, manure, sewage sludge, salt crystal, aggregates, mineral and ore bearing sand, black sand, mineral and ore bearing rock, seeds and grains such as wheat, soybeans, corn, oats, barley, milo and rice. It can also process fish and bones (fishmeal) into a fine powder.

MINING
Any reference to mining is a reference to Primary Mining or Mineral Processing which is the practice of extracting valuable minerals from their ore. Primary Mining materials include: bauxite, coal, copper, gold, silver, iron, precious metals, lead, tin, uranium etc..

Industrial mineral treatment processes usually combine a number of unit operations in order to liberate and separate minerals from the waste rock by exploiting the differences in physical properties of the different minerals that make up an ore. Grinding to a fine particle size is a most important part of the process of separating minerals from the waste rock.

DevourX performs the final stages of fine grinding at a substantially lower cost than conventional equipment. It can also remove a number of stages of the fine grinding process, for example, DevourX can remove five stages from the fine grinding sequence involved in the processing of magnetite from which iron is extracted.

In cases where the present cost of fine grinding actually exceeds the value of the minerals recovered, making it uneconomical to process, DevourX makes such operations economically viable. The most common situation where this occurs is with tailings, which is the rock material left over from the conventional extraction process. DevourX makes processing of millions of tonnes of tailing stockpiles efficient and economical for the first time.

QUARRYING
Any reference to quarrying is a reference to secondary mining and open pit and above ground removal of materials used for secondary applications such as building construction, road construction, cement, glass, farming, etc..

DevourX will revolutionise the processing of many quarry materials. Aggregate materials, such as gypsum and limestone, are difficult to deal with due to their moisture content which requires it to dried before it can be processed. Drying requires heating which is a major production cost that can be reduced or eliminated by DevourX due to its ability to dry as it processes without heating.

DevourX is ideal for the extraction of substances such as platinum, titanium (rutile), silica, zircon and other elements from mineral sands and fine sands. Unlike traditional machinery, it has the ability to break the bonds that keep elements together which simplifies the process of separation and extraction.

A number of aggregate materials are also used in foodstuff for human and animal consumption.

POWER GENERATION
Many power stations throughout the world burn brown coal as a fuel source to generate electricity. Although brown coal is abundant and comparatively not too difficult to access, it's disadvantage is that it contains up to 65% moisture which significantly impedes its ignition. In fact, almost two thirds of the power generated from the burning of brown coal is lost in the process of drying it. Accordingly, many of these type of power stations have an unenviable efficiency rating of less than 15%.

The high moisture content makes coal difficult to grind with traditional equipment, it becomes sticky and laborious to deal with. Present methods of fine grinding and drying coal involve at least three or

more separate processes. The drying equipment is very expensive, cumbersome and relatively inefficient to the extent that less than 5 percent of coal presently used in power production is dried before entering the furnace.

The uniqueness of Devourx is that it grinds coal and dries it simultaneously. It converts clumpy wet brown coal into a fine dry powder that can be blown into the furnace using existing blowing equipment. Additionally, DevourX processing liberates the colloidal moisture contained in the cellular structure of coal, giving it another major advantage over traditional equipment. The drying efficiency of DevourX can be enhanced by utilising the excess heat that is produced at power sites and which is otherwise difficult to dispose of.

Not only does the employment of DevourX machinery significantly reduce processing costs and maintenance, it also substantially reduces the capital expenditure of plant, equipment.

Preliminary testing indicates that utilisation of DevourX machinery to process brown coal for power generation could increase their efficiency by as much as 300%. Of no less importance is the corresponding reduction in carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses which will deliver substantial benefits to the user and the community.

Given that hundreds of millions of tonnes of coal is used in power stations each year in Australia alone, this represents a massive market for DevourX.

OIL & GAS
Coal to liquids technology requires coal to be ground to fine particles and dried before processing into gas and then liquefying it. The most produced end product of this process is diesel fuel.

This is a rapidly growing market throughout the world which, for the same reasons explained in the Power Generation section, can be exploited by DevourX. In the next few decades, hundreds of millions of tonnes of coal will be processed to produce fuel and DevourX is well positioned to meet this demand as it may be the most efficient machinery presently available for this type of process.

CEMENT
In 2005 the cement industry produced 2.3 billion tonnes of cement. The processing of aggregate materials into cement requires a number of grinding sequences. Conventional grinding equipment is a high consumer of electricity, approximately 100 kilowatts per ton is consumed in the production process, which represents 25% of the total production cost.

The capital cost to build a typical cement plant which produces 2 million tonnes of cement per year is approximately US$200 million. Of the total costs, the milling and grinding equipment accounts for approximately $15 million and, due to its substantial weight, necessitates a massive investment in foundations and civil engineering works.

The implementation of DevourX machinery for the grinding processes in cement works would reduce the capital cost of plant construction by more than 30%, ongoing processing costs by a similar amount and reduce ongoing maintenance by more than 50%. The reduction in electricity consumption also produces a corresponding reduction in greenhouse and carbon emissions.

As with many industries, DevourX can be adapted to be integrated with existing equipment, thereby providing immediate benefits and substantial real cost reductions.

GRAIN
There is vast demand for fine and whole grain flour throughout the world. Asia uses large volumes of fine rice flour which is very expensive to produce. In western markets, fine whole grain flour is experiencing a rapid increase in demand. In one pass, DevourX produces extremely fine rice flour and whole grain flour, with or without de-husking. The husk is also reduced to dust and cannot be noticed in the flour.

DevourX processes grain significantly faster and at substantially lower cost than can be achieved by existing commercial flour mills. Most importantly the nutritional integrity of the end product is maintained to deliver a very high quality end product.

By altering the settings, DevourX can also be used to produce a larger particle size required by the biofuel industry in which grain is fermented to produce fuels such as ethanol.

SEEDS
The DevourX form of processing presents opportunities for a wide range of grains that have previously been difficult to process such as: corn seed; sunflower seed; linseed; sesame seed; olive seed, grape seed and canola seed.

Most seeds are processed to extract their oil content. The most desirable and beneficial methods are pressing and cold pressing, however, the cheapest and most prolific form of oil extraction employs the use of solvents which is undesirable due to contamination caused by the process and its residue. Solvent extraction is faster and less expensive, it also yields more oil than pressing the same amount of material but pressed oil is of much higher quality and accordingly more expensive.

DevourX can revolutionise the pressing method making it much faster and cheaper and yielding far more oil than traditional methods. It ruptures the husk structure making oil available that was previously lost when the husk was discarded.

DAIRY
DevourX has numerous applications in the dairy industry due to its ability to dry and powderise moist material without heating. Heating is the major cost in the production of powdered milk products, it also damages or reduces the nutritional integrity of the product.

DevourX can process moist dairy product into dry powder in one cycle. It can significantly reduce the time and cost of processing by removing two to four cycles of processing and eliminate heating stages of the process, thereby maintaining the nutritional integrity of the product.

RECYCLING-WASTE
Throughout the world the problem with stockpiled sludges is increasing by hundreds of millions of tonnes every year, particularly in high growth areas of developing countries. The contamination of soils and water supplies by inadequate treatment of municipal sewage sludge and industrial effluent is causing many human health problems. A regulatory setting currently exists with the EU, and many other world Governments are stipulating an end to traditional dumping of industrial process waste and municipal sludge due to the unsustainable impact this has on groundwater.

DevourX is one of the few technologies capable of eliminating this massive problem by processing the sludges from treatment works and converting it into benign dust. DevourX is suited to reducing
sludges from a level of 30-50% moisture to less than 10%. It is also useful for drying pigmentation cake which contains up to 50% moisture. Significantly, it creates a pathogen free output suitable for co-burning, compost or direct in-soil applications.

DevourX destroys all known pathogens due to the dissociation of the water, shearing water at its densest point, which results in the formation of singlet oxygen and ozone (O1, 03 and 04) which also destroys odours in bacteria contaminated products such as sewage cake.

RECYCLING-GLASS
Glass is extremely expensive to recycle. DevourX can efficiently process massive volumes of glass for reuse in secondary glass production at substantially lower cost and at significantly faster rates than is presently possible.

Ultra fine glass particles are extremely valuable to the cement industry and form a chemical component in the formation of specialised concretes. It is also used to strengthen plastic used in the construction of numerous hard plastic goods such as, computer cases, televisions sets, telephones, white goods.

RECYCLING TYRES
Most western countries have now banned the burning and burying of tyres as a form of disposal. The pollution form burning is obvious, however, many of the problems associated with using tyres in landfill, such as movement of the land many years after it has been filled, are not commonly known.

Once the valuable metal has been removed, DevourX can process shredded used tyres into crumb by first freezing them with liquid nitrogen. DevourX instantly turns the frozen rubber into crumb particles, most of which is less than 250 micron. Rubber crumb at this size presently sells for in excess of $1,000 per tonne and can be used for a variety of purposes, including turning it into crude oil.

Most tyre retailers now charge from $4 to $8 per tyre for disposal which they in turn pay to the recycler. Given the millions of tonnes of stockpiled tyres awaiting treatment, this represents a huge and lucrative market for DevourX.

We believe the same technology applied to tyres can be applied to the recycling of plastic products.

PROCESS INGREDIENTS
A wide range of industrial processes require extremely fine particle sizes for use in the manufacture of cosmetics, paint, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and ingredients for food and beverage manufacture. These industries will greatly benefit from DevourX with a reduction in the cost of refinement of their ingredients and more consistent particle sizes with unadulterated outputs.
